More from Mother's Day

More from our Mother's Day dinner with my parents - we broke out a bunch of the Scando dishes...our new Rune dishes by Nissen (designed by Jens Harald Quistgaard), the Fjord silverware by Dansk (JHQ), and Iittala glassware (Ultima Thule (Taipo Wirkkala) and Essence (Alfredo Häberli)). The centerpiece has Relief candleholders by Kronjyden and Dansk glass vases (both JHQ).

We served roasted cauliflower with capers golden raisins (a Lucinda Scala Quinn recipe) in the fun mod Upsala Ekeby dish.

Just a few snacks before dinner.  The cheeseboard is Dansk (JHQ), the glass-handled knife is by Lindshammar, and the little dish with the crackers is the Mons og Mille pattern by Figgjo Flint (Turi Gramstad Oliver).

Porsgrund Seljord Vase

I found this Porsgrund vase in the Seljord pattern this weekend for only $10... which I hope is a bargain!  The bottom is marked with the Porsgrund logo and the year of manufacture: 1966.

A non-keramikk post.  Pair of Dansk glass vases designed by Jens Harald Quistgaard.

Stavangerflint Norrøna

We got a set of Norrøna dishes for a steal recently, because you can never have too many dishes.  They were designed by Inger Waage.  Not all of them are marked on the bottom - the cups only say "Norway" and a shape number.

Elle Bowl

There is something about the design on this bowl that reminds me of a Ukrainian egg, even though it is all black and white.

Today is Mother's Day in the US, and I've made a banana cream pie for dessert with my parents.

Konrad Galaaen Wall Hanging

This big Konrad Galaaen wall plaque was a recent eBay purchase that we finally received from Germany this week (it took a month to get here) - and it arrived unbroken!  After looking at it closer we noticed that the porcelain is actually two pieces - there is a seam right above the blue block with the black circle.  The front of the board has K. Galaaen, but unlike our other Princess plaque, this one is unmarked on the back.
